Blue badge help was created by faye
Hi ,
Im looking for some advice as im very confused!
my daughter receives the enhanced rate of mobility for pip.
She has 4pts for moving around and 12pts for following/planning a journey.
I have just been trying to fill out the online application for a blue badge and it says she is not automatically entitled to a blue badge and wants loads of different proofs and medical letters and questions ect of everything which seems crazy as she gets the enhanced rate??
whats going on? am i missing something?
thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Faye
You need to appeal - you will have to provide them with some paperwork. - aAthough she doesn't meet the criteria with the mobility (she has 4 and you need 8)- she does for the following/planning a journey for which she should only need 10 points to get it.
All the details are here.

I'm afraid it is more complicated than this.
The requirement for a Blue badge associated with the PIP Going Out activity is not points based it is criteria based, so having 12 points for this activity will not provide automatic qualification, a claimant needs to meet the criteria for
1e. Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant.
I'm afraid you need to get your daughter assessed for a Blue Badge.
