Hi My PIP was stopped in 2018 and eventually given a tribunal date in June this year. 2 days before the hearing I received a call from DWP asking if I would accept their revised award reinstating my PIP but only daily living and enhanced mobility. I was originally on enhanced for both. I accepted the award as I had been without support for 2 yrs leading upto the tribunal. The Lady from DWP on the phone said if I accepted I would receive the backdated money within 3 days , which I did and was nearly £10,000. Should I have accepted the daily award as it’s wrong and has awarded nil points for descriptors I was awarded for previously ? I’m in the support group for ESA and been in it for 6 yrs I’ve now got to have a phone are-assessment which I appreciate is due but will the PIP award of daily rather than enhanced affect their decision? If it does I’ll loose the severe disability premium that they’ve only just backdated after 2 yrs ? Any advice would be sincerely appreciated. Many thanks
I can't tell you whether you were right to make that decision. It was what felt right for you at the time. However, you can still put an appeal on this new award if you wanted to.
Will your PIP award affect your ESA? They are still separate benefits with different criteria. You're ESA assessor won't be reading your PIP award. They will know you get other benefits.
