New dementia diagnosis was created by Primrose
Hello....Not really sure what to do, I have just been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, still waiting for the assessment paperwork to arrive, which will state I will no longer be able to work..however I have other health issues and in receipt of PIP standard rate... my mobility is already severely restricted,,sorry if I am not very clear... the ESA form is causing me a great deal of distress and now the renewal form for PIP has arrived to day! I am concerned if I am unable to complete these hideous forms I will not qualify for anything,,could I be put into the WRAG with dementia? Thankyou

Hi Primrose

I'm sorry - this must be very frightening. First off concentrate on completing the ESA form - because they don't offer extensions. I can't tell you where they will place you, but send a copy of your paperwork when it arrives. If it doesn't arrive in time, make it clear on the form that it exists and you will be sending it on.

As for the PIP form, you need to contact them immediately and ask for an extension. Some people are being given second extensions - so when you ring and ask for one explain your recent diagnosis and you need more time. PIP is generally very good at this. Take it a bit at a time and try not to feel overloaded. (Easier said than done - I know).
