after a telephone assessment of renewal of my pip I have been awarded high rate mobility (I was orginaly low rate) and standard rate care which I already got. im delighted as my mobility is very poor. I have been awarded this for 2 years, which is not a very long time as my condition is unlikely to get better. my question is, is it worth my while asking for a reconsideration for the length of the award, or do they look at it all and maybe reduce my award.
You can ask them to look at the length of the award. Be aware only a few members have had success in extending the end date. Any reconsideration means they look at the entire award. You need to tell them that you are satisfied with the rest and are only challenging the length (if you decide to go ahead).
