Pip extended was created by blueshouter
My pip award was due to end in April 2021 so I was expecting a review form imminently. However I have had a letter saying my award has been extended for another 9 months taking me int 2022, which is good news
My blue badge is due to expire in 2021, how do I do about getting it extended as the DWP haven't sent the usual certificate with my new award date , just a standard letter
Thanks

You will need to contact your Local Authority to see what their procedures are in this situation but you should be able to renew for another three years.

hello If I may I have the same issue my badge expired on 23 Rd November 2020. So you must go online on your council website and filled the application into the renewal of the blue badge. They have put now a very long application in which they asked too much information in regard to your conditions. I have found it very intrusive in our life especially due to the fact that they are not medically trained or in the medical assessor or Doctor, Nurse to have so much info about our private life. They are mostly Admin people so why do we have to give them so much information about how or health is affected. then you must include proof and mostly you can add the letter extending your PiP/ plus a copy of your actual blue badge ending. If you have a letter showing that you are entitled to mobile payment add it to your request .all this information is done online where you add documents by adding it online. Hope this makes sense.

Sorry forgot to mention that they will renew it only for the length of time the letter show. so if one year they will renew for only 1 year.

My Mum’s blue badge was due to expire whilst she was waiting for an award earlier this year. Her Local Authority were really understanding. They accepted her last award letter as well as a recent copy of the letter outlining her conditioned from her Rheumatologist to the GP. On that basis alone, she got her blue badge for another 3 years. I guess it’s down to who you get and local policy.

Hi Jennifer

You are correct, your blue badge can run longer that your PIP award, I did an application at the beginning of the year before Covid-19 hit, one year leaft on PIP. The Blue badge was renewed for 3 years. It may vary from local authority to local authority.

We have just learnt that her PIP award has now been extended by 12 months.
