BTW how should it roughly take for the DM to to receive my letter once its delivered? i assume it will be passed around different departments before it arrives on their desk?
its been just under 3 weeks since the DWP text me to confirm they had received a copy of my medical report and that i should hear from them within about 8 weeks. I am hoping the DM get's my letter in time before they make a decision.

Hi Sophie1985
With the sorting office issues and the inner workings of the DWP - it is impossible to say. Let's hope they do get it quickly.

what are peoples thoughts on the following...
HP in her report recommended
d. Can stand and then move using an aid or appliance more than 20 metres but no more than 50 metres. 10 points.
She reported that I can walk for 15m before needing to stop, rest 1-2 mins then continue to walk a further 15m. which would give me 8 points if the decision maker was to agree with her however..
Under the section “ Reasons why reported restriction are not supported by evidence”
She wrote e. was considered however no wheel chair or bilateral aids have been prescribed so this is unlikely.
Considering descriptor E also states "either aided or unaided" so why would it matter if aids have been prescribed or not?

They are taking the view that someone limited to 20m or less would likely require assistance from either a wheelchair or a walker and that as you do not, you are unlikely to be as limited as you say.
I would argue that lots of people who are limited to 20m or less do not need to use these aids, whilst the distance you can walk has to be considered based on your doing so outside, many are actually restricted to their houses where these aids are not practical.

I checked my bank today and i have a payment incoming from the DWP for pip, I haven't rang them but it appears based on the amount that's incoming that they have awarded me standard rate mobility and standard rate care which matches what the HP recommended in her report.
Now here's the thing, the letter i wrote to the DM challenging the HP report was delivered at 5am yesterday morning. I'm wondering if they have looked at my letter and made this decision but are also going to say they made this decision before they received my letter and thus the decision hasn't taken into account my letter.
I need to have a think now what to do, i am happy with standard rate care but i believe i should have got the higher rate mobility. I know there is always a risk of loosing the award completely.
The last time i got an award was a long time ago now back when it was DLA, what happens next will i receive a letter explaining how the DM made their decision?

Hi Sophie
No, I don't think they will have read your letter. There is virtually no chance that your letter was received at 5am yesterday morning, sorted along with thousands of other letters, was loaded up on the system and sent to the decision maker. For you to have received the money today - then it went through the backing system last night- so the decision could have been made even a couple of days ago.
You will receive an award letter and when you have read it you can put in for a mandatory reconsideration if you want to. You will have one month from the late on the decision letter to submit one.
