PIP - time to review award was created by ritz
Hello,
I've rec'd a PIP form to fill out. It's an award review form and is asking if anything has changed since 2017 when I last rec'd my PIP award. My circumstances are unchanged.
Is it enough just to write unchanged or should I go into greater detail?
Will they look at my last form which explains my condition in much greater detail?

Many thanks

Hi Ritzy

You should read the guidance on filling out the award review form in the latest copy of the PIP guide. We suggest that you should put in some details. Some members have been alright just putting unchanged but others have suffered because of it. Obviously, you won't have to put in a great deal of details but something is better than another. You will find examples in the guide. Yes - they will have access to your previous form.

Thanks so much BIS, I've only just seen this as I happened to be on the forum. I didn't get a notification in my emails as on previous times,. Yes I managed to find the PIP review information and have filled out the form according to what you stated above and have included more information along with saying things are unchanged. Thanks

Hi I have had my review award letter, yet I had a previous letter stating my award extended to June 2021 , yet they want this form back by 8th November. I finally got through on the phone, for the person answering giving mixed advise. She claimed I need to complete it ....I asked for extended time as I don't think she is right . What do you suggest I do and my past supporting medical evidence will they still have access to it .
I will follow your guidelines for this new form .

I have had both my parents pass away within these six months and don't feel up to doing the form hence I had hoped to go with the extended date . I did not say anything to her as no doubt , I would have been unable to talk as it's only been a week since we had Mums funeral .
Thank you in advance .

Hi Kay

I'm sorry for the losses you have suffered - obviously, this makes things doubly difficult for you.

The official time for review forms is a year before the end date. Many have been coming out six months before the end - but it is not set in stone - so although your award end date has been extended until June 21 - it is not particularly surprising that you have been sent a review form now. A lot of people have. So the advice you were given was absolutely correct. You can ask for an extension - and you should automatically be granted an extra two weeks. A few people have reported that they have been offered more in exceptional circumstances and you can certainly ask after you have had one two week extension for another one - but don't take it for granted that it will be given to you.

You do not need to include past medical evidence - they will have that. Only add anything that is new. Read the guidance on filling out the review forms and try to put something - even if nothing has changed. It's a lot I know - but you must get that form back to them. You don't want to lose your money on top of everything else you are going through.
