Timescales for a new claim was created by Lennydutton81
Hi I finally sent my forms in and got the text confirming they had arrived on the 7th Oct
How long would you expect it to be before I have to complete a telephone / video assessment?

Also I am worried that I may have sent stuff in that wasn't helpful, I sent notes from my GP appointments re depressive episodes and also from one of the dermatologists.

I am terrified I will just get told no!

Hi Lennydutton81

I'm afraid at the moment it is impossible to get any sort of accurate timescale. You might hear within a couple of weeks, it may be longer depending on the availability of assessors if you're going to have a telephone assessment.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if there a geographical element to timescales - do some areas receive quicker responses than others?

Hi Ghirl#1

I would like to say no there is no geographical element to timescales but this is not the case not only that but some areas are more prone with assessors being off work due to ill health and stress.

Hi Marie T

How did you send the forms back, did you send them recorded delivery? If you did, have you checked that they have been delivered?

I would have thought that they had been delivered by now, I would contact DWP for peace of mind to confirm that they have received the forms.
