Late form return PIP/ MR for returning form late was created by Pilly
Can anyone advise what might be happening regarding my MR please?
I just called for an update today but I was put on hold while the lady spoke to a DM but then I got transferred to another lady who said she had to go through different screens about my claim and read through all the dates that I’ve sent things to them so put me on hold, she then came back about 5 minutes later and said one of the screens that should be open for my type of MR wasn’t open or active (can’t remember her exact wording)
So she needed to email another person and wait for their reply and she will be calling me back this afternoon - she called back and said there are still 3 tasks that need completing I my MR but will call me again on Thursday with an update as the lady who she had emailed hadn’t replied yet
My MR is because I didn’t return forms in time which resulted in getting a letter saying they couldn’t award me pip (which I expected) but I could appeal that decision so I did and sent my forms off a few weeks later.
I also sent some more evidence the following week (a written statement from myself, an appointment letter for MH team and another assessment report)
Has anyone else been in this position and have any idea what could be happening? Maybe they’re disallowing my MR due to how late my forms was returned?

Hi Pilly
You can do out of time MR with good cause, I have completed a MR at 12 months that was accepted and the same with an appeal. If you are more than 13 months out of time then you will not be able to request a MR or Appeal a decision.
If your MR is turned down, they will send you two letters the same, you need to send one copy in for your Appeal, nowadays people aredoing one line Appeals, from what I have been told they are quite straight forward and easy, I have not done an on line Appeal myself I have always used the SSCS1 form. Check out our guides: www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
I would wait until you get the phone call on Thursday, if it does not happen, phone DWP on Friday to find out what is going on.
Come back to the forum and let us know how you get on.

Had the return call this morning all she said was, she apologised that the start of things hadn’t gone as they should’ve which delayed my application , the tasks was dealt with on Monday and I have to wait now for an appointment for a f2f call but my late return form had been accepted
