Currently on ESA. Will I be moved to UC in future? was created by iccsmate
Im on esa and have been for a number of years. When my next face to face medical review comes up will have be moved to UC, as I was under the impression that Esa was being phased out?

There have been no updates on when the transfer of claimants on legacy benefit will commence, the pilot which was supposed to move 10,000 claimants across had not managed to move 20 in six months. then the pandemic struck and the DWP's plans went out the window.
So, it is impossible to say whether you will have been transferred or not when you are next assessed, in fact, it's not currently possible to say when you will next be assessed. What I can tell you is that the assessment process and criteria for UC is exactly the same as for ESA.

Hi
I thought the transfer was only for ESA IR to be affected not ESA CONTS. Not clear to me which of the two is in question?

Hi synapse321
No, the migration is for all those in receipt of 'legacy benefits'.
A managed migration pilot was announced in October 2018 amid cross-party concern about Universal Credit’s impact on vulnerable people, and Harrogate was unveiled as the pilot area last March.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) told Inside Housing that at Christmas 2019 there were only 69 cases in the Universal Credit managed migration pilot – with that figure supposedly due to reach up to 10,000 by the time it finishes at the end of this year.
