closure of sdp gateway January was created by alexhagen1984
Hello everyone im having a nightmare situation with the UC helpline being unable to give me advice. The SDP gateway closes on 19 jan 2021. I am moving house in February 2021. Which will automatically trigger a UC claim I get PIP enhanced rates for both mobility and care as well as ESA support group and SDP. So when I change address next Feb will i get any benefit translation protection If so any idea how much? As explained i have the SDP and support group will i automatically qualify for limited capability for work in UC system.
someone please help. I have tried contacting PIP my local council ESA and SDP transition helpline and nobody knows

thanks

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

It's important to note that the January 2021 date is a statement of intent, the legislation involved does not have an End Date and will need to be removed for the gateway to cease.

There are still legal challenges being made about the amount of compensation being paid for claimants who were disadvantaged by a Natural migration to UC as a result of their circumstances changing but you should receive an additional payment in your UC if you are still entitled to the SD Premium when you move.

Your Support Group award should be migrated to a UC LCWRA award, at the moment it is a manual process which the claimant needs to ensure is happening, the pilot that the DWP were running at the end of 2019 was supposed to look at how this could be automated but failed miserably with less than 20 of the intended 10,000 claimants actually migrated so it is possible that this will still be a slow and tortuous process.
