Contribution ESA Support group to Universal credit was created by wikedy
Hi, I have been on contribution ESA Support group for several years. I have now had to claim UC to get help with rent.
I also get DLA HRC and HRM.
I have started UC claim and made quite clear I already on ESA but been told I have to have work related meeting on 21st Oct by phone.
Is there anything I should have prepared for meeting?
Do you think I will have to start from scratch re ESA claim?
I put off claiming UC for as long as possible as dreading what will happen re DLA to PIP and esa.
Do they not just transfer the ESA o to new ESA in UC.
I get my state pension in 14 months. Know then I come off UC and have to claim Housing benefit. Any advice apreciated.

Hi wikedy
From your post I see warning lights flashing, before we can answer your question, you state that you are in receipt of CB ESA and in the support group and that you also receive DLA HRC and HRM.
To answer your question we would need much more information such as, what is your status? Do you live on your own? Have you ever claimed IR ESA as a top up to CB ESA? Do you receive a SDP? Unfortunately this forum is designed to give information and not advice which is why we have some excellant guides.
You need to seek specialist help from your local welfare rights organisation.
You do not get transferred from ESA to new style ESA, you have to apply.

Ok thank you.
I have now been agreed for UC to start next month, no work related interview needed, and ESA will continue the same but be deducted from UC amount. I do use your excellent guides which helped me with my ESA claim. Thank you for reading.
