Hi I'm currently claiming essa support group..I have jus been diagnosed with emphysema and don't know if I can claim dla or pip tried looking on the gov web site but that just confused me.. If anyone can help I would be grateful many thanks..
DLA is no longer awarded to new adult claimants as it has been replaced by PIP. There is nothing to stop you from claiming PIP as long as you have experienced difficulties for the three months prior to your application and that it continues for nine months after (which it will with emphysema). There are no guarantees that a claimant will receive it - you just have to apply. We have an excellent guide which will help you through the process.
