Hope this has t already been asked but I have had my telephone assessment cancelled because I asked for it to be recorded. ATOS haven’t got the equipment apparently and they can’t give me a date for the assessment so I have to wait indefinitely at the moment. How important is the recording? Would I be better to go ahead without it in order to get it done as I’ve been waiting for 3 months already. It’s a change of circumstances from DLA to PIP (worsening condition).
Only you can make a decision on how much you want them to record it.
You could have the assessment and you could record it yourself - though you must not tell them you are doing this. Many people choose to do this. You will at least have a record of what you have said and what they say. If you tell them you are recording or going to record - the assessment would be ended.
I would also be asking why they can't record it when the government minister informed the House of Commons recently that they had the ability to record all assessments.
