Applying for renewal of PIP with a DS1500 form was created by NicNac
I have stage four cancer. Stable but it could deteriorate at any time and I will be on lifelong chemotherapy. Am heavily disabled through cancer surgery; I have a prosthetic leg. Combined with often feeling awful I often have trouble walking; I use a walking stick or crutch and will be in great pain if I push it too far.
Have been on top level of both elements of pip. Now they want me to reapply.
GP has given me a new DS1500 form. . Does this mean that I ONLY have to fill out the mobility section of the form?
If so, should I ask my physio/oncologist for a letter stating some of my mobility issues? Would that strengthen my case?

Providing the DWP accept the DS1500 then yes, you will only have to claim the Mobility component although I would wait to see what the DWP Decision is as could award Mobility based on your health as you currently have such an award.
You physio/oncologist commenting on your Mobility will certainly help but make sure they understand the criteria you are trying to meet, you don't want their comments to be treated as irrelevant to the Descriptors.

Thanks for your reply Gordon. I don’t understand your first para though, sorry. Why wouldn’t the DWP accept a DS1500 signed by my GP? And what do I wait for with regards to what the DWP decide about my mobility? They want the renewal form back in three weeks time....don’t I just send it off along with the DS1500 and then only complete the mobility section? I don’t understand.

The last time I saw a statistic on this around 3% of DS1500s are rejected so it is not a given that you will be awarded the Daily Living component.
If you are presenting a DS1500 then there should be a Decision made without the need for a form to be completed so it is worth sending it now to see if this happens, it is possible, as you already have an award of Mobility that a new award will be made for both components.
If this does not happen before the return date for the form, it is worth asking for an extension to this, then you need to return it. I'm not aware of anything that says that you do not need to complete both the DL and Mob sections.
