Hi Ragnar
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work .
If you have not already done so, you should contact the DWP for a copy of the assessment report (PA4), I would phone them but again follow up the request in writing. Once you have the assessment report you will have a better understanding of how the DWP Decision Maker has come to their conclusions and will then be able to argue against them.
The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, (but you do need a copy of the assessors report (PA4) before you do this), this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
Remember your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;
"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"
than their opinions
"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.
We have a comprehensive guide to filling out the PIP form and appeals. It walks you through the entire process and will tell you the types of things you should be writing for each of the questions. The size of the guide is daunting, but it will make the process of filling out the form a lot easier.
You can find it from the link below.

Hi Ragnar
If you click on the link, it is about half way down the page 'PIP mandatory reconsideration and appeal submissions' .
There is a Mandatory Reconsideration form you can also use, which is called CRMR1, this is the form that I usually use when I do a MR. www.gov.uk/government/publications/chall...ork-and-pensions-dwp

Hi Ragnar
I don't believe it would be against the rules, you have to remember the site is open to the general public, we cannot give specific advice as we do not know the individual, we can only give general advice, if you require specific advice then we will advise you to seek advice from your local welfare rights adviser, they will be able to take into account your personal situation at that time to give you accurate advice/information.
