Hi Ragnar

I would expect you to hear within 8 weeks, but it might be sooner. The stats for MRs are not good and only about 17% are successful. The next stage is to go to appeal. That takes about a year but the success rate is currently 83-85% in favour of the claimants. You can read about appeals in the Guide to Appeals www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Hi Ragnar

I always look at the worse case scenario and as BIS has stated only about 17% of MR are successful. I would start putting together an appeal, that way everything is still fresh in your mind from completing your MR and you will not have to panic when you get the results.

If you are successful then it is a bonus and you have not lost anything. During the waiting period your mind would have been whirling round, 'what if I had said this' or 'explained that better', your brain needs to be occupied if not you go in a downward spiral, planning your appeal will keep you occupied. I always say to people think the worse but hope for the best.
