Hi,
I am in receipt of ESA ( C ) and just today qualified for a ESAIR Top Up. My daughter stays with me and receives ESAIR and we both receive Pip at the enhanced rate.
At present my SDP is paid to HB and I have never received it in my award. I thought when I received the top up it would be paid to me directly.
Are you able to explain why this is please?
Also will iI now be entitled to free NHS Glasses and Dental help?
The award letter is still in transit after 10 days so I have not seen the breakdown of how they came to their decision.
Many Thanks

Honey
In your situation, the SDP will be paid in both your ESA and your HB, however, it will only be added to your ESA by your contacting the DWP and completing an IS10 form which asks about your living situation, you should be able to do this over the phone.
The following is an example of the form so you can see which questions will be asked.
www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/243895/re...0Document%20IS10.pdf
You and your daughter will each need to have a Daily Living award to qualify and there must be no one else living with you and no one must be claiming Carers Allowance against your PIP award.
Your daughter should contact the DWP as well as she should be entitled to the Premium in her ESA as well.
ESA(IR) entitled you to free prescriptions and dental care plus reductions on glasses providing the retailer offers this facility.
