Pip assessment recordings/capita was created by tambc
Hi all, don't know if anyone can help me.
So my pip review form got sent out July 24th, I sent the form back reordered delivery at start of September after asking for extention. My award was then extended until March 24th 21, and more recently June 24th 21, but advised pip could still do assessment at any time. Which has been building my anxiety all this time dreading the envelope with assessment.
Well today the assessment letter came through post with Capita for telephone assessment. Feeling really anxious/down and worried sick. My questions are am I still able to ask for my assessment to be recorded? I read somewhere that capita didn't have the equipment to record assessments at this time so any assessment where someone asks for a recording are being pushed back further, is this true? Or still the case.
Also the assessment date falls on next Thursday,my moms birthday, am I able to rearrange date? If so how long for? Thanks

Hi Tambc
You are allowed to ask for your assessment to be recorded and you may well be told they don't have the equipment or the assessor refuses to be recorded. (Assessors do not have to agree to a recording). You should be able to delay the telephone assessment once, but be aware you would have to take the next date they gave you regardless of whether it was convenient. Call them and ask.

Hi bis.
Thanks for your reply. If they don't have the recording equipment do they have to cancel. Or will they just force me to go ahead with the telephone assessment without recording. I don't feel comfortable having it without being recorded due to previous negative decisions which have forced me to go to tribunal. I believe recordings have helped me hugely in the past.
If I do reschedule it how long is it possible to push it back? Do I have to choose the new date over the phone with them or will they send a random one through the post. Thanks

Hi Tambc
If you insist on the assessment being recorded and they can't do it, yes they will have to cancel. You could record it yourself, but you would need to do that covertly. When it would be held, that will be up to them and whether recording becomes available or in the much longer-term when they resume face to face assessments.
If you choose to reschedule - I can't say whether they will give you a date or whether they will send a date.
