UC awarded LCWRA what do i do next was created by Rosey
Yesterday I received a letter stating I had been awarded LCWRA but no other information. After looking on here and the GOV site I think I will be given the UC plus £341.92 per month. Is this correct? My daughter has told me because I have been awarded LCWRA I should apply for PIP. I had breast cancer removed in 2017 and am on cancer prevention medication, I also have COPD which as an ex heavy smoker (3 month free of cigarettes) is getting worse. I am not on oxigen but do use an inhalour twice a day plus a different one for when I have a flare up. I have various other issues which affect my self confidence and am suffering from depression and anxiety as such I have not been outside since March. My sister visits me every other day to do my housework and prepare meals as I struggle to get out of bed let alone cook meals for myself or eat. I have not discussed everything I suffer from but based on this information should I complete the PIP form? Thank you for reading

Hi Bud
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is.
Welcome to Benefits and Work .
Yes you are correct, if you have been awarded LCWRA then you will receive an additional £341.92 pcm in with your UC claim.
PIP is not awarded because of the condition but rather the limitations that result and prevent a claimant from completing a range of everyday activities. Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for a better understanding of the criteria you will need to meet.

We do have a PIP self test on this web site where you can check to see if you may be eligible for PIP.

Hi Bud.
Considering you have the LCWRA you have nothing to lose by applying for PIP. The criteria is different but the extra money is extremely helpful in maintaining your independence.

Thank you Gary thats wonderful news, all I wanted was for them to understand how difficult I found looking for and carrying out work which they have. I have been scrimping all year on everyday things such as water, heat, food etc the award means I no longer have to go without necessities. I will look at the attachments and use your advise to complete the forms. Thank you again
