Claim Query (Ending) ESA was created by Mark
Hi
Been running around in circles trying to get copy of assessor report. Phoned two weeks ago guy didn’t know what he was doing. Put me on hold twice then said he we contact someone and have them send me it.
Two weeks later phoned again no record of the report being sent. In any case he gave me info I wanted when he said note on file support group for 18 months. He said I need to phone health assessment place. Gave me number. Phoned them and they said we don’t keep the files we send them back to DWP.
To hell with it. I get the 18 month figure I wanted. I’m not too bothered what has been said.
By the time I am reassessed I may not be a member of this site so I wonder if I fail the paper assessment and am called for assessment in person rather than phone, if I don’t want to go through that again how do I end my esa claim?
Would I write a letter or would it make sense to just not turn up this way it might string it out for a few months.
Previously going back about 10 years I insisted on a home visit. They never closed my claim after not attending. I got a few phone calls from someone at the local jobcentre. I held my ground and eventually they had some polish guy come to my home and give me zero points! The whole process must have resulted in me being on ESA for an extra couple of months.
Thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Mark
If you find yourself called in the future to a face to face assessment you can tell them you wish to end your claim, by telephone letter or both. I can't recommend that you string it out and just don't turn up, but it's a personal choice if you do that.
