PIP review abandoned, no further contact was created by kbskylady
I'm currently finding PIP review stressful, and wonder if others have a similar experience. I was told by letter in summer 2020 that my review was postponed until spring 2021, but then received review forms to complete anyway. Heard no further until a letter dated 2/12/20 advising of a telephone appointment on 11/12/20. It was cancelled on the day by DWP (not ATOS) due to call before mine running over time. Another call set up for 6/1/21. Was told by DWP on 11/12/20 that there was a note on my file for a 'light touch' which would take around 10 - 15 minutes. It didn't. ATOS assessor wanted answers to irrelevant issues (my early school days e.g. - I am 61!)) and this continued for abut 45 minutes. Had to call a halt because I was starting to melt down. After 15 minutes it was resumed but immediately abandoned by assessor when I told her about my notes (light touch). She said she was not trained to do LT reviews, and that she had duty of care to abandon if I was suffering from psychological distress (I was). Told she'd call me later that day or following day, after speaking to her manager and that they could decide on another full interview, a soft touch, or to go with the (incomplete) notes she'd already made. To date I have heard nothing more. My new PIP payment is due next week so I am fretting in case it is stopped. Not sure what to do next.

Hi K
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
The only way to stop worrying is to ring and ask. I know it can be terrifying, and if you don't want to do it - then you will have to wait to find out whether the money is going to be paid in.

Thank you for alerting me to how my name appears - I have now managed to change it. Not been here for a few days as still stressed and trying to get it together. I have not contacted DWP yet but will try to do so today. My husband's Carer's Allowance was due in today and there's no sign of it in the bank. This is worrying as it always seems to come in just after midnight, and obviously PIP and CA are connected.

Well done, kbskylady, on getting your name changed on the forum - these little things can add to the stress - as indeed can many aspects of our dealings with DWP.
I hope you do feel able to get in touch with them. Any taking of the initiative can be helpful to your state of mind.

Hello kbskylady,
What a worrying time for you and your husband.
If you have not already done so, I just wanted to encourage you to make that phone call to the DWP. Have your husband with you and put the phone on speaker phone so you do not have to hold it whilst it plays endless music as you are kept on hold. I have even watched a little day time television or played a computer game as I have waited!
When they answer, I am sure they will be friendly and give you the information you need, even if it is not what you want to hear. This is where your husband comes in - he can make notes of what is said as you talk! You will then either be in a position of being reassured that all is well or be in a position of being able to matters forward.
I hope you get the answer you want!
