Telephone assessments when deaf was created by norder
I'm afraid I can't work out how to search the forum so I'm sorry if this has already been asked. Hopefully I won't need the advice for a long time as I am on an indefinite award for PIP high rate. In the past year my hearing has become very poor and at times it disappears completely so I can't even hear a sound . Even on full volume speaker phone plus hearing aids I still struggle. How do I manage any future assessment if hey insist on telephone?

Hi Norder

If you are not able to hear - then you cannot be forced to have a telephone assessment. When the time comes for your review, then you make it very clear on your form that this is the case. It always helps to have a letter from GP or specialist or health professional. You should then be offered a paper-based assessment. You may have to fight for it, depending on what evidence you offer.
