I have just received a letter from the DWP notifying me that I will receive a call from them next week for a 'compliance interview'.
I cancelled my Universal Credit in March 2019 after receiving an insurance payment and the only benefit I get is Carer's Allowance for my mum. I am living off my savings, do not work and haven't done for 13 years. I am confused and worried about why they are calling.
I would appreciate any advice about the call, particularly about whether they could be calling about UC after nearly two years or whether it is more likely to be in relation to Carer's Allowance???!
I am anxious that I have done something wrong but can't for the life of me think what it could be!
I can't give you any false reassurance here, because I don't know why they are ringing you.
Sometimes the DWP send out these letters because something has been flagged on the system as a potential fraud issue, but when they investigate there is nothing amiss and I know of a couple of people have found out they weren't claiming benefits they were entitled to.
Try not to worry. Just have any information to hand about your financial situation.
