At the start of the pandemic my UC payment went up by around 80 pounds or so. Is that payment likely to remain the same permanently? Or is it only a temporary payment. If so when will it go back down
I am not aware of any imminent changes in UC payments, the last I heard was that the Government was still deciding, this was before the current lockdown. It was only meant to be temporary, one year but things have moved on when that was first decided.
I know that many welfare rights organisations have asked the Government not to reduce the payments as it will cause severe hardship, so we will have to wait and see.
