PIP light touch review info. Please help. was created by phrank
Hi there,
I'm sure I have asked the same sort of question on here before but my case seems to be a bit of a grey area.
Right. My last letter states that because of Covid, my award has been extended to March 2022.
Now I reach state pension age in February 2022 so does this mean an automatic light touch review? Or will I need one more assessment when they contact me probably 6 months before that when I won't be of state oension age?
Surely it should be the former if you read the statement from the DWP. Does anybody know who is or has been in a similar situation?
I await your reply or replies with interest.
Regards,
Phrank.

Hi phrank
It is a bit of a grey area, my understanding of the 'light touch review' is that you have to be of State Pension age when your assessment is made and it would depend on your condition. If a decision is made before you are of State Pension age then unfortunately you will be reassessed again within 2-5 years of that decision.

........I guess my best hopes are that I've been in receipt of PIP for around 7 years and after all 3 assessments I've stayed on the same award and little has changed.
I did have to fight for it a couple of years sgo but ut got sorted at MR.
