Pip review date confused was created by pol
Hi. My pip 'was' due for review in April 2021.

Letter received September 2020 saying award extended to late December 2021 with review postponed until 4th December 2021.

Letter received 14th January (dated 4th January) including review form which must be returned by 4th February (21 days away).

I have tried phoning, calls answered after a 1 hour wait only to be instantly disconnected (twice) 3 x 1 hour waits with no answer and I'm loosing the will to go on.

Do you suppose one of the letters was sent in error? I would like to ask them for more time to complete the form but if I can't get through on the phone is there another way to do that?

I have enduring mental health problems, my dear cousin died today of covid and this just takes the biscuit.

Many thanks in anticipation of any tips.

Hi Pol

I am so sorry about the loss of your cousin.

Regarding your form. I'm surprised that your letter had such a specific date for a review (4th Dec 21) - that is unusual.

No, I don't think your review letter was sent out in error, but I could be wrong. This form has been sent about 11 months before your award end date which is what you would expect.

As it stands unless you hear otherwise - you need to fill in the form. However, I would keep ringing and trying to get through to someone. Then you can get clarification that you do have to complete the form, and you can also ask for an extension which you will be given. Quite a few people last year got a second extension (but don't count on getting one)

Hi Pol,
I understand your frustration with the phone calls since I’ve had similar problems :( ! I’m told many organisations now have really long wait times and technical difficulties due to employees working from home. I’ve started putting calls on hands-free, low volume and keeping myself occupied elsewhere to pass the time!

So sorry to hear about your cousin, must be a difficult time for you with this too. As BIS says and I’ve read on the forum, it’s normal to receive the review notice up to 12 months before the end date, so you should probably start working on the form so you’re prepared.
Good luck!
