ESA CB support group and lieu of notice was created by traceytracey
Hi All,
I wonder if anybody can help/advise.
I am on ESA CB and in the support group. I was doing "permitted work" of 15 hours pw which obviously the DWP were aware of. Unfortunately my employer (a doctors surgery) can not keep me safe as I am clinically vulnerable and we have decided between us that I should give up this work and will look again once it is safe for me to do so.
I informed the DWP on 2nd Dec by telephone call that I had left employment and wrote to them. I have just received a letter from them saying that I have been paid more than normal for December and could I tell them for what period it covers. I was paid 6 weeks extra pay of £817.00 (below the weekly permitted rate) but they also paid me £1,018.00 which was my accrued holiday, which obviously now puts me over the limit.
I am very concerned that they will stop my ESA. Does anybody have any advice for me?
Will they stop my money?
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
Keep safe all

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi traceytracey
Your post has not been over looked, from this week we (BIS and myself) have been asked to do things slightly differently which is to post a query for others to answer but checking nothing libellous or misleading. This is to try and speed things up, as some members worry if their posts are not showing straightaway and then post the same query numerous times, especially at weekends.

Morning Gary,
I have just logged back on to see no advice/answer forthcoming, so I re- read your post. can I confirm that basically you are saying you are not going to advise/answer anybody's posts anymore, but rely on other members to answer them. All you will do is read them? so unless anybody else answers I will be just left wondering?
Kind Regards

Hi TraceyTracey
It was a one week experiment that has now been changed. We have two more assessors added to our number now. It has always been the case though, that we never guarantee an answer, but I'm sorry that you were left in limbo.
Your original question was about whether your ESA would be stopped, because of the pay you had received. I don't think it will be stopped, I think it is far more likely it will be reduced to make up for the "extra" pay you received. However, you need to contact the DWP, because they are the ones who can give you the definitive answer and I could be wrong.
