Marked as vulnerable with the DWP was created by Perdita
Does anyone know how the DWP decide on which claimants they mark as vulnerable regarding mental health on their system? I believe I was marked down at one time as vulnerable on their system, but am wondering if I still would be bearing in mind I have had ESA and PIP reviews since,

Kazza, this is genius you finding it. Talk about evilly narrow:
This snippet [and following text]:

"6. The Work Programme definition of a vulnerable ESA participant is:
Vulnerable ESA participants are those who have mental health conditions or
learning disabilities or conditions affecting communication/cognition.”

.. demonstrates that they do not consider a claimant 'vulnerable' as long as they understand what they are supposed to do, and that they could get sanctioned for failing. It in no way takes account of mental health conditions where the claimant understands full well, but cannot manage to comply because of their condition. This would definitely apply to my sister for instance - 3 A levels and a degree but severe OCD and drugged up to the eyeballs on prozac [fluoxetine] to control her extreme anxiety, can't 'get round' to anything normal. On the basis of 'know your enemy' this is very useful info. Thanks, Denby
