Pip DM awarded 2 points assessor suggested 13! was created by KatB
Hi, my experience was that I had my pip stopped this week also, I immediately askes for a MR and assessors report too (thanks B&W) and although I thought it was the decision maker who come up with all this outrageous reasons for denial it was in fact an echo of everything the assessors report said so I pretty much lost my claims I had made over mental health (anxiety/depression) because of the phone call and she said "no evidence of low mood" "engaged well" "answered all questions" etc, is that even allowed from only a phone call? I also found inconsistencies and lies in the report. I got 4 points for aids only.

Hi Kat
Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.
Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.
Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.
Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for a better understanding of the criteria you will need to meet.

Hi Kat
You might especially want to read pages 52-53 of the PIP Guide on this issue of being able to cope with the medical assessment but having issues with other interactions due to depression etc
