In December 2020, I received a welcome letter from DWP stating that my PIP award had been extended by a year until December 2021. I heaved a huge sigh of relief especially as the huge form always needed completed over December.
Now I have received a shorter Award Review form PIP1043 which I've never had before and which has to be returned by 17.2.21 !

Please can anyone advise me what to do?
Do I phone and say I have an extension?
Or do I rush to complete it in just over a fortnight as it says if it's not received my PIP will stop.

Hi sunflower,

Simple advice is that you need to complete the review form. You can however ring up the DWP and request a little more time to complete. If you give them a good reason, such as you need to get someone to help you do it, I have never known them to refuse.

Have a look at this link www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...ip-award-review-form for our advice on how to tackle this particular form.

I think this is how they are handling things during the pandemic. I received a 12mth extension in October for PIP. I received the form for review at the end of November, beginning of December, with a return date by the end of December.

Hello! From what I understand, it is usual for people to be asked to supply information to support their claims about one year before the official review date, so from that perspective, it seems to be normal that you have been asked to fill-in a new form. If I were in your position, I would make an appointment with my local welfare advice agency (Citizen’s Advice or similar) and if necessary, request an extension on the deadline. Definitely sent it by either Signed-For delivery, or Special Delivery when you do submit it.

I hope it all goes smoothly for you.
