PIP MR- Assistance/Support From Another Person

Good morning. In my unsuccessful MR for PIP, it states ‘When we look at assistance another person must be there to help you complete the activity, helping you to do some but not all of it. When we consider support someone else needs to help you complete the activity, because if they do not you would not be able to do it.’

My question is: I thought PIP was about the help you need whether you get that help or not. Am I correct in thinking this?

Hello Girlfriinho,

You are right, PIP is about the help you need whether or not you get it.

However the help which you score points for is the help that you need from a person being there to help you do some of but not all of it....

So to score points you must need to have help from someone with you, even if you are not actually getting help from someone with you.

I do hope that makes sense!

Catherine.
