Hi, my husband has been claiming ESA for him and myself. We both receive PIP enhanced for both care and mobility so we received the extra allowance for ESA. My husband started receiving his state pension in August last year, at first we were told that we were no longer entitled to ESA even though I am not at state pension for another 5 years, we were to claim universal credit, they then backtracked and said that as we get the additional disability premium we would still get ESA. Today I noticed that ESA had not been paid, when I phoned I was told that they could not find anything from ESA for my husband or myself. I noticed that when a payment has been made its says DWP JSA, I don't understand why it says that and not ESA. I was told that someone would phone me back today by 14.50, guess what, they haven't. So I am at a loss to understand why they have stopped the payment. We have been shielding and staying at home since last March so we have an added cost of heating. Please help. Thank you.
This is obviously very worrying for you. Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer you here, but to say keep on ringing. It obviously makes no sense for your payment to have changed without warning and for your records not to be on the system. Unfortunately, the DWP will be the only people able to provide you with an answer. I would ring and ask when you are going to get your call-back.
