PIP assessments was created by Justice4all
Hi everyone. I am my daughter's appointee. We submitted her application for PIP which DWP received on the 3rd November. This included all up to date medical evidence. She had in fact attended a medical assessment for ESA in January 2020. We have heard nothing at all. Her blue badge ran out on the 2nd January. She uses an electric wheelchair.
As a matter of some interest (to us) her first medical for PIP was in 2017. The HP lied about everything, only her name was correct. She lost everything including her disability vehicle. (she has been permanently disabled for 16 years). We went to appeal and won our case. The Judge asked me if I was taking the DWP to court. The HP was sacked. We are extremely frightened that this could happen again. Like many of you we are now in limbo, worried a telephone call might be missed. Thank goodness for this website, at least we were able to use the magnificent guides this time round. I would be grateful for any up to date info. Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Lesley
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Regarding the amount of time you have been waiting to hear back about your daughter's PIP Application - it is certainly not uncommon. Some people have heard within 8 weeks, a few within 2 weeks and some people like yourselves much, much longer. At the moment it does seem to be down to the luck of the draw. If you can bear it, I would ring and inquire where your daughter's application is in the process. You can't do any harm by asking and it ensures you there is no specific hold up that they haven't told you about.
I can understand your concerns about the whole process after your previous experience, though so glad to hear that the HP was sacked. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen enough.
