PIP - Claim is ending letter (PIP 0506) was created by McRoue
Hi there, this is my first time posting in the forum - I appreciate any advice being given.
On review of my claim in 2018, I was awarded the high rate daily living and mobility components of PIP. This award was to end in October 2020, but was extended by 6 months to April 2021 as a result of COVID19. At the time I had this confirmed in writing.
As in previous times, I've been expecting to receive a review form. But instead, I have been sent a 'Your claim is ending letter' (PIP 0506), advising me that on 21st April 2021 my claim will end and with no further information about having a review. Is this the correct process please?
I've previously experienced major problems with PIP. The prospect of having to fight them again is already making me feel like giving up, its all too much.
Thank you.

Hello McRoue and welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately it is one of the correct processes. You will need to reapply for PIP, by ringing them up and requesting a form etc as though you were a new claimant.
If there are exceptional circumstances why a break in your payments will cause damage to your health I would include a letter to this affect in with your application, asking if it is possible expedite your application.
If you get your new application process started before the current award finishes your new award should be backdated to the end of your current one.
Remember to read our guides and gather all the supporting letters you can!
