Performance Measurement question was created by bernadette Ann
Good Day,

I was wondering if you could advice me on this matter, I received a letter from the performance measurement Dwp Department, they said my name was picked randomly to check me Esa benefit, I have spoken to the lady whom was very pleasant she ask me several questions, and told me I had to send in 2 bank statements 1 from each bank account I hold. I do feel a bit concerned about all the question she was asking me, could there be another reason she is asking me questions.

She said that the technical team said that I could be entitled to severe disablement premium, because myself and my son received ESA and PIP care element, which I know nothing about.

And what is the difference between Performance Measurement and Complience interview.

Kind Regards.

Hi Ann

Performance measurement interview is simply for the DWP to gather information for national statistics (you were unlucky to be chosen) www.gov.uk/dwp-visit

Compliance interviews are sometimes done at random - but can also be triggered when the DWP believe there could be something wrong with the benefits people are receiving - this is mostly too much and could possibly be fraudulent. This could be set off by someone making an accusation real or malicious which the DWP follow up. Sometimes compliance interviews show that someone is not receiving enough benefits.

Any time you receive unexpected mail from the DWP it can be frightening, but it this case, it doesn't appear you should be overly concerned and the interview went well. As you will see from the government website it is common practice to ask for documentation.

You can read about the severe disability premium here and see whether you might be eligible
