case worker query was created by reds123
hi mods , i have requested a copy of my pip assessment report by phone and also by letter and was told they would put it in post for me and that it was with a case worker , i was told they received report from hcp on 3rd february but what is a case worker is that the same as a decision maker as i was hoping to get report back in time to write to decision maker if i needed to about the report., many thanks bb.

Hi british bulldog,
Yes, I believe that all case workers are decision makers, but not all decision makers are case workers. There is a hierarchy of decision makers, some of whom are definately higher than case workers, but I have spoken to case workers who have at least implied that they are decision makers.

thanks catherine, i will just wait to see the report when i eventually get it (i requested it on 4th feb but not received yet) and hope its better news than i fear. i was just hoping for time to request the case worker/decision maker look again at any bad /untrue parts of the report but i understand that this is a short window and i may have missed the opportunity now . many thanks bb.

Hi british bulldog,
Not being able to submit a MR on time because you did not get the assessment report on time is a very reasonable reason to ask for a time extension. If you can, do give them a ring before the month is up, it seems to all run much more smoothly if you ask for the extension just before you need it rather than after the month.
btw I am not completely clear if you have received your decision yet - if not the clock does not start until it posted.

hi catherine, sorry i was not clear , i have had assessment and requested the report , but i am still not in receipt of the decision letter yet . i was just trying to get a head start in case i did not agree with the decision and wanted to do a MR request. thanks for your reply's, bb
