Mandatory reconsideration was created by Lala
Hello, I have just asked for a mandatory reconsideration, because I keep getting the standard for mobility and care. I really need the mobility part raised because I cannot go out without my car. They keep saying I can plan and follow a journey but I have told them I can't. I wrote a report using tips from you and posted the letter over two weeks ago. I know it was signed for a couple of days later because I tracked it. How long should I wait even for an acknowledgement of receipt never mind a proper letter. Anyone got any ideas?

Replied by Catherine on topic Mandatory reconsideration
Hello Lala,

I can’t remember ever hearing about the DWP sending out courtesy acknowledgements, but at least you know they received it.

As to how long you will have to wait, that is anyone’s guess. Pre COVID I would have said 4-6 weeks, but now it can be any length of time. If it goes beyond 6 weeks I would suggest giving them a ring and asking when you might expect to receive a response.

Sorry not to be able to be more helpful,
Catherine
