I have had my ESA telephone assessment cancelled this morning. My letter stated I would be called by an assessor between 9.20 and 10.20. At 10.23 I was called by a lady saying that due to staff shortages and sickness my assessment had to be cancelled. I took the telephone callers name, but now I am wondering if there is something else I can do to cover myself, in case they say I was at fault.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
The fact that you were called and told that your appointment was cancelled because of staff shortages, I think it's highly unlikely they will now turn round and say it was your fault. You have the callers name, you know what time they called and I assume you have written down exactly what you were told. That's quite enough evidence.
