I'm so confused. was created by Judy
I had the letter informing me that my PIP award (won by tribunal) is being extended to November, brilliant I thought, I can breathe easy for a bit. Ha, not so because two months after the letter I got the light review form, which I filled in and sent back... Now I have had a phone call asking me if a telephone review very soon will be ok? It will be, but I don't understand why I need a telephone assessment if I've done the light review form. Is this normal please?

Hi Judy

I have not seen any posts here on the forum concerning light reviews, so I cannot answer you query. Members on the forum may be able to give you first level knowledge.

In regards to the telephone assessment, check out our latest guides, page 81 telephone assessments and 96 questions you may be asked.

There have been some changes to the PIP criteria since you were last assessed so please make use of the latest version of our PIP Claim guide

I'm sorry I didn't make myself very clear, that is my fault entirely. I meant that after my extending of the award letter I was then sent that form where they ask you if there are any changes, the one where you answer yes or no. I filled it in, in some detail so I'm confused as to why they then called me to tell me I'm going to have a telephone review. I wondered if that was usual to have that, even after I filled their form in. They got it because it was sent recorded delivery.

Hi Judy

That is normal which was why I posted the link to our guide. We have heard from quite a few members who were given an extension only to receive the review form and then telephone assessment.

There is a backlog in assessments which is why DWP are sending out extension letters so that claimants benefits do not stop whilst waiting for an assessment.

Some members have informed us that they were given a paper review but that is not the norm, most claimants get a telephone review, a few are told they will have to wait for a face to face review whenever that happens, at present I have not heard when or if they will be re-opening assessment centres.
