Hi
I picked up my supporting letter from my gp it states I have significant memory issues which are being investigated and it’s my short term memory. I’m not safe to cook as I leave the hob on walk away and forget I’ve put it on. The gp also wrote I would be grateful if her memory problems could be taken into account at assessment. I’m hoping that this will be enough evidence to support getting points for that and the other descriptors that I gained few points where the assessor has used “ no evidence of memory problems “ for her justification . What do you think will they take notice of gp ? I know you can’t judge individual cases
Let’s see if the decision will be changed at mandatory reconsideration. Letter being posted today fingers crossed
Thanks
Sunshine

Just reading a PIP Telephone Assessment report and makes continual reference to client not being referred to memory clinic
As a tactic worthwhile asking GP for a referral to a memory clinic ?

Update
MR - no change I called today and they told me decision on the phone, letter in post, I will await letter to see reasoning but they didn’t change ANY points so I guess they haven’t taken anything into account ... I’m thinking appeal but I will wait see what letter says

Hi Sunshine99,
Sorry to hear that your PIP claim may not have been successful at MR. The members guides contain information about making an appeal to the tribunal if you wish to do this.

Hi Sunshine99
Sorry to hear that your PIP claim has not have been successful at MR stage, remember only about 17% of MR claims are successful, at appeal stage the odds go up to over 75%.
If you want to appeal a Decision then you must either complete an SSCS1 form or request the appeal via the Tribunal Service's online system within one month of your MR decision
www.gov.uk/appeal-benefit-decision
Our appeal guides explain the process and have links to the form. The Submissions document has completed examples of the form. The appeal guide is halfway down the link under the heading PIP Appeals. www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
