PIP, end date, extension, award review, Motability

Well! what a mess!

So in January I got an extension letter telling me my 3 year award which is due to finish on 12th April 2021 has been extended until January 2022. Huge sigh of relief. That was just a few weeks ago.

Then yesterday I received an Award Review form! Which has taken 2 weeks to get here and is due back in 2 weeks. I can fill the form in, so no problem there.

But meantime, thinking I was safe for a while longer, you’ve guessed it, I’ve asked for my Blue Badge to be looked at, they extended it just until January 2022 and I had to pay the £10.

They say they will complete the review before the original end date of April 2021 but my Motability car lease is only until May 2021. I will ring Motability and get advice as there’s no point in starting to look at a new one until I know I can actually get one.

In the meantime I reach State Pension age in April 2021 too and had hoped I might get the 10 year light touch rather than an Award review.

I don’t really need help with this, it’s a mess I need to sort out. But it’s a tale of never feeling safe and secure in your financial situation. Of being constantly stressed by this demoralising and distressing process. I just wanted others to be aware too.

Thanks for all you guys do.

Hi eyesnlegs

Thank you for the information, it does come in handy for other members who are going through a similar experience knowing other people are also in a similar position.

You are not alone, we have had recently quite a few enquiries similar to yours, given an extension then a few weeks later a review form has arrived, talk about highs and lows.

Good luck with your review, get back to the forum if you require any help.

Gary
