Missing MR

I have just been speaking to a lady who has rung up the DWP to find out why she had not received the outcome of her Mandatory Reconsideration request.
It eventually turned out that although the DWP had recorded receipt of her request along with the supporting documents they had not 'registered it' so it has just been slumbering in the system for the last two months. Following the lady's phone call it has now been passed to a case manager.
In future I am going to make sure that we follow up all MR requests with a phone call after a couple of weeks to make sure that it is being correctly processed.
Yours frustrated,
Catherine

Sorry you have had to find out the hard way, I do not trust DWP and experience has taught me to send every letter recorded delivery and also ring a few weeks later to check where they are up to with the form. Hopefully the fact they have messed you round may have a positive bearing on the MR. Good luck x

I know people say only proof of postage is required, but I always pay for signed-for and a couple of weeks after it's confirmed as having been signed-for, I call to progress chase it.
With my cbESA claim, I was being overpaid. Submitted the paperwork confirming they were overpaying me, when it was noted as received called the following week and every week after until someone called me back. They wrote off the overpayment from the date they received my paperwork until the date they called me back and agreed I'd been overpaid!
