Telephone interviews was created by Jackie
My daughter was due to have her PIP assessment in December but the cancelled it as we asked for it to be recorded. They said that recordings weren’t available at that time for telephone assessments. Since then we have heard nothing. We’re we given the wrong information? If she does succeed will the PIP be backdated?

Hello Jackie,
If you are concerned then I would give the DWP a ring to see what is happening, to make sure there has not been an admin slip up somewhere. The sooner spotted, the easier it is to correct.
I would however think it is just taking them a while to set up an appropriate assessment.
Assuming you got the PIP2 form or the review form back to them in time, it should be backdated.

Is it with capita? I did the same with capita and mine was cancelled numerous times as capita didn't have the equipment. Then they cancelled one and I waited around 8 weeks until they gave me another date. After this date I called again to request a recording. Then I was advised capita have put all pip recordings on hold as they are looking at ways of improving the service (we all know they didn't have the equipment in the first place) so because of that, they said in other words tough luck, and forced me to have my assessment without a recording. So they take away your right of a recording, not a level playing field, we can cancel it once, they can cancel as much as they like. I have logged a complaint but yet still no response. Apparently mid jan they changed the ruling to pause all recordings. Good luck anyway, I hope you get yours.

Hi tambc, this is horrifying, have you complained to your MP as well? and have you requested the assessment report, [PA4] so you can immediately contest the content as necessary [ie before the Decision Maker decision-makes?].
Please let the forum know about the responses you get. Soo agree with you about the un-level playing field, in so many ways. Denby
