Think I need to clarify. My son is in receipt of contributory ESA old style . I understand that receipt of this is dependent on being in the Support Group, which he is. Currently undergoing a renewal assessment. If this goes wrong, I will do mandatory reconsideration and appeal. In that case given the type of ESA he is on, can he receive the ESA basic allowance while appealing the decision.
