PIP. How long must I wait? was created by Applesoranges143
We have been waiting for nearly three months, I phoned IAS on Friday and was told, there is no timescale. This prompted me to phone DWP and ask them for an extension for my relative who is increasingly distressed. He said they can’t do that and that they were doing November’s ones now, so December ones might get done next month and to phone again in a month if not done. He is going to be 65 in June. Thank you BIS for any help.

Hi Appletart

I've moved your post to its own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other member's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.

Thank you for the information, it does help fellow members who are in a similar situation.

The age limit of 65 is no longer relevant to new PIP claimants, you can claim PIP as a new claimant up to your State Pension age which is gradually increasing until it reaches 68, there are plans to change State Pension ages further, this is one reason why we cannot give you a definitive answer. If you want to know your state pension age follow the link: www.gov.uk/state-pension-age
