PIP telephone assessment on monday was created by scottishlemonade
i have my pip telephone assessment on monday and i am nervous, its atos that are assessing me. i have sent in medical evidence to support my claim and i am also hoping they write to my doctor or psycologist as well, i suppose the DWP has award enhanced on both components to someone who hasn't sent in any medical evidence before.

i will have my forms in front of me when i they are doing the assessment on monday,. i put in the forms i would benefit from getting help from someone helping me with certain things are you allowed to mention that at the assessment as it does say on the form to mention help your not already getting or something.on the form but i have stated what i struggles are in each component?
is is safe reading things out your form from word to word ?

Hello Laura.

I can see that you have posted here a number of times before, but just in case you want to change it, it looks as if your full name is showing.

My full name is showing, how can I stop it.

It sounds as if you are well prepared for Monday.

It is unfortunately unlikely that they will have written to your GP or psych, but you say you have sent in medical evidence so that should not matter too much.

You are right to focus on the help you NEED not the help you get. If there are things were you need help, but you are not getting it, explain what the problems are which meet as a result of not getting that help. For example does it take you ages to get dressed or do you have avoid having hot meals when you are alone etc. It is fine to them directly that you need help with certain things.

You can of course read things out word for word from your form, but if you can throw in additional real life examples that is good.

In the next few days I would suggest you go through our guides again, and make sure you are aware of the points which you want to highlight against each activity, whether they are physical or mental health ones.

You mention that you have a psychologist, so I hope it is reasonable to assume that some of the issues you have Daily Living and Mobility are linked to Mental Health. If there are some activities which cause your condition to make your symptoms much worse make sure you tell the assessor.

And finally – if you need to take a break during the assessment, you have the right to ask for one.

I hope it goes well for you,
Catherine

thats a good idea to go through and highlight the number of points against each activity the number of points i should be awarded but do you mention this to the assessor on the phone as it's not something i feel comfortable doing unless they would use it against me,

i have no idea how my full name appeared i do apologise

the evidence i sent in was what i sent in before as i got told to use what i sent in before if thought it would be useful for my claim, i have sent in that i have lie long difficulties in socialising and communicating with others that cause me anxiety.

i will defintley be mentoning where i need help and how it could benefit and stop me from struggling which went in form and i will be reading that out on monday when they phone.

Hi Laura

If you click on the link Catherine sent you, it will explain how to change your name. I am not aware of the forum settings changing.

I have seen at least four posts today where we have reminded members to change their real name, members do not have to change their names, it is up to them, the reason why we ask members to change their name is so that they are not identifiable as you never know who is reading the posts.

Hi Laura,

Personally I would not tell the assessor how many points she/he should award you for each activity, but focus on making sure that you give lots of evidence of what you are trying to demonstrate to her/him.
