Hello many thanks in advance. Do you know that when I apply for the above benefits do they automatically inform my council and disabled working credits that I am applying. I ask as I have been working and been getting a little HB and disabled working tax credits. I will no longer be employed from 31st March. I was also told that my housing benefit would carry on for a further two weeks, not sure if true or not? Thank you again.
UC will inform both your local authority and HMRC that you have applied for UC.
You were told correctly, it is true that your HB should run on for a further two weeks when you apply for UC. I say should as it has been known that claimants have missed out, so you need to keep an eye on your account to make sure you get the run on.
