'New' PIP Form received was created by alihughes
Good Afternoon,
You mention that you would like to know if anyone has received the new PIP Form.
My sister has received a new PIP form.

She was first awarded PIP in 2018, Enhanced for both components but only after Mandatory reconsideration and Tribunal, with a date of 8th May, 2021.
My sister's limitations are due to mental health problems and the appeal was to do with Following and Planning a Journey and trying to get 12 points awarded for that, which we did at Tribunal.
My sister received a letter on 1st March 2021 that was dated 30th January 2021 stating her PIP will end on 8th May 2021.
I phoned DWP on 5th March and asked for an extension like the majority of PIP recipients seemed to have got.

They said she is not eligible for an extension as her award was through Tribunal.

They said if she wanted PIP she would have to submit a new claim and none of the information from her previous submission would be taken into account.

My sister's submission in 2018 was 154 pages. I included comprehensive evidence as I requested a paper-based assessment as my sister would be unable to cope mentally with any kind of contact and questions asked in any other type of assessment.

I asked why it wasn't a Review and was told it was because her award was through Tribunal.

They said a new claim PIP form dated 5th March would be sent out and she had a calendar month to complete and return it.

A 'new kind' of PIP application form dated 5th March 2021 was received in the post on 18th March 2021, giving me about 2 weeks to complete and include full evidence included in the 2018 claim and additional information on my sister's condition since 2018.

I did not expect the PIP form to be any different from before, it is only reading your email that I've just checked it and it is, in fact, as you state, different. I have been contacting medical professionals for written supporting evidence of my sister's condition and they all say it will take 28 days for any letter to be sent.

In desperation I contacted my sister's MP's office to see if an extension would be granted or at least a Review not a New Claim as it seems grossly unfair to be penalised for appealing and going to Tribunal.
The MP's office have been so supportive but they were told no extension due to the Tribunal decision. They did say that I did not have to worry and that DWP would be making a decision based on the 2018 submission and the decision would be with my sister within one week.

The week is up today and my sister has had no letter.

I am now gravely concerned that if a decision has been based on the 2018 submission it will most likely be the same as the previous DWP decision and I will still have to go through Mandatory Reconsideration and Appeal. However, what's more concerning is that we do not seem to be being given any opportunity to submit up-to-date information and evidence of my sister's condition since 2018.

Hi Alison,
Your full name is showing, you might wish to amend this-

Thank you for letting us know about the new style form.

I am also concerned that your sister won't get the chance to present new evidence if DWP simply use the 2018 papers. But if course, ultimately that did result in enhanced rate of both components, so it is still possible to get that award. Since you haven't yet got the notification, you could phone DWP to chase their decision.
I suggest that you start collating medical evidence etc just in case you need to make a Reconsideration. I hope not, but it maybe necessary.
Fingers crossed. Good luck.

Your post reminded me of this Twitter thread which I read a little while ago. I don’t know how long your sister’s award was for last time, but the information may be helpful to you.

Thank you LL26 for tip re my name - I'm new to posting on the forum site although I've been a member since 2017!!
B & W certainly played a huge part in being successful on behalf of my sister in her 2018 application even though we had to go to Tribunal - it all hinged on achieving the 12 points and therefore Enhanced for Mobility due to Planning & Following a Journey. Her motability eligibility and vehicle is her lifeline for doing anything outside of her home.
Her PIP award does say she is awarded it until 8th May 2021 but I assumed all PIP awards were 'reviewed'. My sister has had no correspondence mentioning a review, she just had the letter saying her award will end on 8th May 2021 and if she still needs PIP then to make a new claim!!
My sister's MP's office is contacting DWP for an update on the decision. They have been very helpful so far as if I phone DWP I speak to someone different each time and get given different information. I will update you on any outcome re decision made without up to date information/evidence.

Hello aliandro and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately not all awards are reviewed, although my understanding was that it was only short term awards of 2 years or less which simply ended.

I will be interested to hear what your MP discovers. In the meantime, I would recommend that you start preparing for a filling in a PIP2 form again and gathering what evidence you can to support that application. If it is changed to a review then the evidence you need to submit is the same, and the information you put on the form is not much different.

There is lots of guidance about this in and PIP reviews in our guides

PIP resources

This is how the PIP2 form currently looks, although as you will have seen in our recent mailing it would appear that they are in the process of modifying it.
