I would like to ask has anyone been refused pip, with a diagnosis of a heart attack i am wondering if its worth applying as we all know how difficult dwp make our lives , thank you
PIP is based on how your health condition effects your daily living and mobility, not what the underlying health condition is. There are people who have heart attacks who within 6 months are fitter and more active than they have ever been before; they would be most unlikely to win a PIP award. Similarly there are people who are left seriously incapacitated by a heart attack who certainly should be awarded PIP. If is impossible for us to say where you fall in that spectru.
There is a PIP self-test here. It will give you an idea of how PIP works and you can use the score to help you to decide if it is worth pressing forward with a claim.
Please do come back to us if you have any more questions, Catherine
